In a communique from the GIS headquarters, the captain of the National Armwrestling team Edward Yamoah Asamoah and coach Nii Otoo Larkyne who excelled in Armwrestling at the games were mentioned.

The officers, who led team Ghana to win several medals, including gold, silver and bronze have been promoted to various ranks for their outstanding and exemplary performance.

Team captain, Assistant Inspector Edward Yamoah Asamoah has now become Inspector of the Ghana Immigration Service whilst team coach ITO Nii Otoo Larkyne is now Inspector of the Ghana Immigration Service.

The Comptroller-General congratulated the officers for their hard work and dedication, saying, "Your achievement is a testament to the service's commitment to excellence. We are proud of you, and this promotion is a well-deserved recognition of your efforts."

The 2023 Africa Games saw Ghana's Armwrestling team win a total of 41 medals, with the GIS officers playing a crucial role in the team's success.

The officers expressed their gratitude to the Comptroller-General and the GIS leadership for the recognition and promised to continue working hard to bring honor to the service.
