Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary aspirant for Ellembelle constituency, has advised the people in the area to change their voting pattern in this year's election.
He noted that the people have voted for the Convention People's Party (CPP) on three consecutive times but has not seen any improvement in their lives, adding that, "the time has come for you to vote the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Mr Freddie Blay out of power".
Mr Buah was speaking at the launch of his manifesto at Aiyinase at Ellembelle in the Western Region on Monday.
He pointed out that the cycle of poverty in the area would be over if the people vote for the NDC.
He explained that his vision is to provide effective leadership to reshape and lift up the socio-economic development of the district as well as ensuring that the constituency has basic needs such as health care, good drinking water, better schools among others.
According to him, his mission is to work with the government, district assemblies, private and public institutions to raise the standard of living of residents of Ellembelle and other parts of Nzema.
Mr Buah said when voted into power, he would adopt a "leave no child behind approach" by ensuring that within four years, every child in the area gets the opportunity to receive both primary and secondary education.
'I would work with the trustees of the Kwame Nkrumah Trust Fund to ensure that it receives the needed boost to benefit all Nzema students' he said.
"Also, the MP's common fund would be used to support initiatives such as annual awards for students, who excel in their academic work, library projects and scholarship among others".
On health care and sanitation, Mr Buah said he would work with the District Chief Executive to improve the refuse collection methods, provide better dumping site as well as create good drainage systems throughout the towns and villages.
He said persons with disabilities would be given skill training and job placement, adding "I will support special groups, such as persons with autism and other mental challenges' he said.
He added that his goal is to reduce unemployment in the area by more than 50 per cent before 2011.
"If I am voted into power, I would establish an Ellembelle Chamber of Commerce, which would work closely with the district assembly and chiefs to spearhead the growth of jobs in Ellembelle".
Mr J. R. D Cobbinah, Western Regional Secretary of the NDC encouraged the people to vote massively for the Party to come to power.
"A vote for our Presidential Candidate, Professor Atta Mills and his parliamentary candidates would guarantee the people of this country peace", he said.
He encouraged the people to have the confidence that the NDC would come back to power, to continue with its developmental projects it started during the NDC regime.
Mr Solomon Nkansah, Regional Youth Organizer of the NDC noted that there has not been any development project in the area for the past 12 years.
"If you want to see transformation in your lives then, vote for the NDC to have this seat" he said.
He said the NDC is determined to have more representatives in parliament and called for peace and unity in Ellembelle and the country as a whole.
