The Kwaebibirem District Chief Executive, Mr. George Agyemang Duah, on Friday began a tour of the district to interact with the people to be able to know problems confronting them.
The first leg took him to Subi, Abodom, Abaam and Asuom.
Speaking at separate durbars organized in his honour, Mr. Duah called on the chiefs and people of the district to team up and co-operate with him and the district assembly to develop the district.
He said every community needed assistance and he had come to serve with humility, honesty and dedication and hoped they would give him the needed cooperation and support.
The DCE said the task ahead was heavy but it should be done to improve the lot of the people and transform their communities.
He called on the various communities to unite and re-kindle their communal spirit and to take environmental cleanliness seriously since filth bred diseases such as malaria and typhoid.
Mr. Duah called on all those who had not yet registered with the District Mutual National Health Insurance Scheme to do so to be able to access health care when they fall sick.
Touching on education, he said it was essential for national progress and individual advancement, and urged parents not to neglect the education of their children.
Mr Duah said with the increase in the capitation grant, expansion of school feeding programme and with children to be soon supplied with free school uniforms, there was no reason why parents should refuse to send their wards to school.
At Subi, the Subihene, Amoah Bosompem III, appealed to the Electoral Commission (EC) to create Subi as a separate electoral area and not as part of Kade.
He also appealed for extension of the school feeding programme to the area.
At Abodom, Barima Kwame Boadi III, the chief of the town, appealed for the completion of a clinic under construction, rehabilitation of the market and the public place of convenience.
At Asuom, Osabarima Ofosuhene Appenteng the second, the chief of the town, called for the implementation of a plan to upgrade the Asuom Senior High School.
