The party also directed all party offices should fly their flags at half mast in honour of the late Alhaji Mahama.

In a statement issued to the GNA by Mr Arnold Boateng, AFAG General Secretary said: "As a Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama served the nation with distinction, a feat which endeared him to all including his political opponents."
"In his capacity as a Vice President, he inspired a generation of Ghanaians across ethnic boundaries. He was a benevolent man who cared and extended a generous hand to the poor and needy.
"Ghana has indeed lost a giant but his good deeds would far outlive him. AFAG is inspired by the hope that, Vice President Aliu Mahama's exemplary life would inspire the youth and the nation to greater deeds."
