The Founding Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Central Region has congratulated President John Dramani Mahama on winning the 2012 presidential election.
Mr Kofi Mintah, a spokesperson of the Founding Members who sent the message through the Ghana News Agency at Winneba said the victory of President Mahama attested to the good work the late President John Evans Atta Mills and Mahama led government executed under the Better Ghana Agenda.
He said the result of the election was a true reflection of Ghanaians' appreciation of the achievement of Mills-Mhama government.
"Ghanaians have once again demonstrated through peaceful, free and fair elections that they are all that they survey in democracy on the continent," he said.
Mr Mintah commended the NDC for the hard work and effective campaign strategy adopted to ensure victory for the party and urged members and supporters to continue to work hard to promote the Better Ghana Agenda.
He advised members and supporters of the party to remain calm under any provocation in order not to destroy the peace the country was enjoying and urged them to be moderate in the celebration of their victory.
Mr Mintah commended Ghanaians for the peaceful manner they conducted the elections and appealed to them to ensure a violence-free aftermath to prove to the world that "when it comes to democracy, Ghana was second to none in Africa".
