More dignitaries are arriving in Ghana to represent their countries at the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect John Dramani Mahama.
They include President Jacob Zuma of South Africa, President Faure Gnasingbe of Togo and a delegation from the UK led by Mr. Mark Simmonds, Minister for Africa.
The rest are Burkinabe Prime Minister, Luc Adolphe Tiao, the Moroccan team led by a minister of state, and a group from the Czech Republic led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Over twenty dignitaries arrived in Ghana on Sunday, January 6 ahead of the event. Some pundits have predicted that this swearing-in would witness the largest attendance by foreign dignitaries in Ghanaian history.
They were met on arrival by Alhaji Muhammad Mumuni, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Mr. Sammy Eddico and Mr. Akwasi Agyemang Agyare, Chiefs of Protocol and Mr. Charles Fellah-Officer in Charge at the VVIP lounge of the Kotoka International Airport.
Some representative from their respective embassies and High Commissions were also on hand to meet them.
Other representatives are expected to arrive soon.
