Top officials from Russia and the United States are to meet for a second time in Geneva on Friday with UN envoy Lakhdar Brahimi in an effort to find a solution to the Syrian conflict, Moscow has announced.
Deputy Foreign Ministers Mikhail Bogdanov and William Burns are to take part in the "exchange of ideas without preconditions," the Russian Foreign Ministry said Wednesday, according to the news agency Interfax.
At a similar meeting last month the three politicians said that a political solution was still possible.
Russia rejects proposals for international military intervention in Syria, saying that Syrians must decide their future themselves.
