ZTE announced the availability of X-Site, a new platform designed to enable smooth evolution to multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) networks for mobile carriers.
The new ZTE X-Site platform is designed to help carriers increase site capacity by as much as 40 percent, speed up time-to-market of new services, and reduce network management and planning costs.
X-Site offers an evolution path from UMTS and 2x2 MIMO LTE networks to higher-order MIMO networks, with three main features, namely remote radio unit (RRU) cascading, vertical sector split, and self-adaptive antenna, the company said.
