UMB has opened its newest branch in Tamale as part of the Banks promise to provide high quality banking products and services to its customers nationwide. The UMB Board Chairperson, Mrs Elizabeth Zormelo and two Board Members, Mr Mawuli Hedo and Mr. Menson Torkornoo, as well as the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. John Awuah, led the official opening of the bank’s new ultra-modern branch in Tamale.
The Bank’s Tamale branch is located on Dagomba Street/Post Office road, close to the MTN office in Tamale. A statement issued by UMB and copied to the Ghana News Agency said special guests included the Chief of Tamale, Nyab Dawuni Dakpema; NPP Regional Chairman, Bugri Naabu; Chief Imam of Tamale, Sheik Abdul Salam Ahmed; the Northern Regional Fire Officer and the Head Pastor of Winners Chapel Tamale, Pastor David Zokli.
In addition to the many notable guests, UMB Executive Committee members and UMB staff were also in attendance. Mr Awuah, who welcomed new customers, discussed UMB’s successes over the last 45 years and spoke of the Bank’s focus on greatly improving its local distribution capability in order to serve its customers better.
The new branch would cater for the needs of individuals and corporate organizations located in and around the Tamale Municipality. Services and products offered will include current and savings accounts, instant debit cards, personal loans, dedicated remittance centre, electronic banking and mobile money services, amongst many others.
Mr Awuah said: “It gives me great pleasure to open this ultra-modern branch in Tamale because we believe Tamale is pivotal to the growth and development of UMB Bank’s franchise in the Northern regions. The resilience of the Tamale market in these difficult times has been reflected in our bank’s decision to set up and do business here”.
He said through UMB’s diverse expertise and strength as an indigenous bank, the bank would continue to successfully deliver to customers and local businesses; building on both the bank’s presence and expediting enhanced access to UMB products and services.
