They said members would be forced to demonstrate against government to protest the continued harassment, frustrations, brutalities and extortions by security agencies at these unauthorized check points on the road.

Nana Yaw Owusu Agyeman, Deputy Secretary, who read a statement on behalf of the group at a press conference in Kumasi, said these activities by the security agencies are collapsing their businesses.

He said it would be in the interest of the government to intervene to prevent the activities of these illegal activities impeding the work of the traders.

Nana Agyeman also appealed to the government to initiative effective measures to reduce the high import duties and the depreciation of the cedi to ease the cost of doing business in the country.

He said the leadership has on several occasions tried to get the Ashanti regional Minister and the Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly to intervene but this had not yielded any fruitful results.

Hence, the appeal to the President, Nana Addo Dankwa, to intervene to address their concerns.
