The GSE Composite Index moderated by 21.89 points (-0.98%) to close at 2,222.76 with a -13.59%% YTD return due to downward price movements in four counters including oil marketing, banking and telecom stocks. Market capitalization declined by 0.69% to settle at GH¢56.60 billion.
Ecobank Ghana Limited (-1.02%) and Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (-9.09%) closed lower, dragging the GSE Financial Index down by 18.28 points (-0.95%) to 1,902.74 with a -11.65% YTD return.
The SAS Manufacturing Index remained unchanged today, closing with a -19.40% year-to-date return.
Trading activity weakened as 746,412 shares valued at GH¢3,192,964 changed hands compared to 9,570,767 shares valued at GH¢9,009,978 at the last session. GCB Bank Limited dominated trading, accounting for 85.77% of total volume traded and 98.24% of total value traded.
