The Hunger Project in collaboration with the Rural Enterprises Project (REP), has trained 30 women in soap and detergent making at Ekumfi Twaa.
The training was to offer the women an opportunity to diversify their income generating activities.
Mr Seth Frimpong, Project Officer for Hunger Project, said the project was supporting artisans in 42 trades to acquire the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) certificate to facilitate their employment in the job market.
He appealed to the trainees to ensure that their products were of high quality to guaranteed ready markets for them.
Mr Neile Arkaa, Mfantseman Municipal Focal Person for REP said the main aim of the project was to reduce poverty.
He said diverse ways were being employed in the fields of health, agriculture and entrepreneurial developments to reduce poverty, especially in the rural areas.
Mr Arkaah urged the women to take advantage of the opportunities to improve their standard of living.
Nana Assan VII, Mankrado of Twaa appealed to the trainees to transfer the skills they had acquired to others who did not get the opportunity to be trained under the project.
He further appealed to the two organisations to provide the trainees with financial support to sustain the project.
