MTN Ghana, is rewarding MTN Mobile Money customers for using the service to send money to their friends, families and loved ones this Christmas.
Both the sender and the recipient would each receive GH¢10.00 bonus airtime on transfers of GH¢50 and above made on the MTN Mobile Money platform.
A statement issued in Accra over the Weekend by Mrs Georgina Asare-Fiagbenu, Corporate Communications Senior Manager for MTN, said MTN Mobile Money enables customers to purchase MTN airtime, send or receive money locally and remittances from abroad, and pay bills.
It said customers could also shop online, purchase airline tickets or order and make payment for food from their favorite restaurants with MTN Mobile Money.
"MTN Mobile Money also enables customers to purchase micro insurance (Mi life Insurance) and pay for micro investment products, demonstrating the enormous potential of electronic payment platforms," the statement said.
It said the offer started from 3rd December 2012 and would end on January 6th 2013.
Mr Eli Hini, Senior Manager for Mobile Money, who launched the promotion, said MTN was committed to rewarding customers for their loyalty and commitment to the brand.
"Our aim as an organization is to promote a cashless economy and through this promotion we are reaching out to our customers to send their usual Christmas cash gifts to their friends and loved ones through the mobile phone," he noted.
MTN Ghana launched the Mobile Money Service in 2009, to enable Ghanaians to make financial transactions on their mobile phones.
