Vodafone Ghana, CIMG Telecom Company has organised its maiden Retailer Loyalty Scheme awards to reward more than 70 retailers and their families with educational scholarships, branded kiosks and households.
The Scheme dubbed: "Vodafone Akyedie" was aimed to recognise and appreciate street vendors, table top vendors, kiosk and grocery shop sellers of Vodafone top up products, for their hard work in supporting the Vodafone brand.
Vodafone Akyedie is a loyalty scheme that gives retailers the power to decide what prizes they want using a points system.
Vendors accumulate points as they sell top up cards and Vodafone transfer and are able to redeem their prizes every 90 days or carry it over to the next 90 days.
David Afotey and Nurudini Ahmed, who won the coveted title of retailers of the year took home a Vodafone branded kiosk and GH¢1, 000 worth of stock.
Each member of their family also received an alcatel phone and GH¢ 50 worth of credit.
Speaking at the event, Mr Michael Nii Boye Adjei, Commercial Director for Vodafone Ghana said retailers play a critical role in the success of Vodafone, adding that they were the first point of contact for many customers.
"Our award scheme therefore is to thank them for their support, and to engage them as ambassadors of the Vodafone brand. We will continue to grow the scheme with the help of our trusted retailers in our overall quest to be the preferred network in meeting the telecommunication needs of the public," he said.
He advised retailers not to underestimate their role in the success of Vodafone Ghana.
Mr Adjei assured them of Vodafone's commitment to create a mutual beneficial partnership, which would reward hard work with prizes.
