THE Easter Comedy Show has become one of the top events to look forward to every year. With its excellent draw of comedians and musicians, patrons get the chance to release all their stress through great jokes and music.

This year's edition, which was the sixth came off at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, April 2O, was another hit for organisers Events Factory, with incredible performances from comedians Waris, Hogan, O B Amponsah, Akpororo, Senator, Mpho Popps and musicians Akwaboah and KiDi.

The show started at exactly 8:45 pm with a performance from the Patch Bay Band who delivered great tunes like Joromi by Simi, Odo Ye Wu by Rex Omar and a couple of old school tunes.

The band played so well that they received a standing ovation from the audience when they were done with their 20-minute performance.

O B Amponsah, who was the MC, followed next eliciting a lot of laughter from patrons. A joke he shared on how difficult it was for someone to become an armed robber in Kumasi went down well with the patrons.

According to him, everyone knows everyone in Kumasi so if you are a thief and you enter a house to rob, you would easily be identified and given information you didn't even know about yourself.  

Hogan also put up a wonderful show and kept the audience laughing throughout. He cracked a joke about the sun being too hot lately that a police officer jumped into his car to enjoy the air condition when he (Hogan) thought he had been arrested.

KiDi was next with an amazing performance and for the 20 minutes that he was on stage the audience didn’t want him to leave especially when he dropped tunes like Adiepena, Say You Love Me, Odo and Thunder.

Nigerian comedian, Akpororo was fantastic on the night and so were Waris and Senator while singer Akwaboah was at his vocal best.

Although it was his first time in Ghana, South African comedian, Mpho Popps, killed it when he mounted the stage.

He had learned a few Akan words and how he wrongly pronounced them got so many people laughing. He asked how a woman with a big backside was called, then he said 'Aboa woto nono' and asked if he got it right.

He joked about the Terminal 3 at the Kotoka International Airport, describing it as the best one of the best in Africa but was not appreciated by Ghanaians.

When he stated that there was corruption in Ghana everyone burst into laughter.

His joke about how mosquitoes in East Legon were different from those in Nima in that those in Nima bit with more hunger, got everyone laughing.

The stage design was simple, sound was good and there was no dull moment at the event. It was simply put, another successful show by Events Factory.
