UK-based-Ghanaian Gospel artiste, Joseph Matthew is billed to perform at this year’s Ghana Music Awards-UK scheduled for Meridian Grand, North London, UK on Saturday, November 30.
-Joseph Matthew known for songs such as My Story, Not Alone and The Name promises to give patrons a good experience, with his inspiring performances.“I'm honoured to be performing at GMA-UK. This platform shows the growing influence of Ghanaian music globally, and I'm excited to share my music with my fans in the UK.
“Even though Ghana is home, UK has become my new home and the Ghanaian community has been very supportive of my career.
“Hence, I’m excited to do this, particularly on a day to honour and celebrate Ghanaian music and artistes far away from Ghana,” he said.
The GMA-UK aims at celebrating and recognising achievements of Ghanaian musicians, both locally and internationally.
It promises to be a showcase of talent, culture, and creativity with an impressive roster of established and rising musicians including Sarkodie, Akosua Adjepong, Ofori Amponsah, Barosky and Kofi Nti.
The likes of Charles Kalah, Alice McKenzie, and Kofi Badd, all based in UK, will equally have the platform to thrill patrons with new faces such as Star Vicy, Kimilist, and Theo Vesachi having their time as well.
Last year, Joseph Matthew won the Best Gospel Song of the Year award for Blessed at the awards ceremony.
Interestingly, this year, he is vying for Highlife Song of The Year UK, Highlife Artiste of the Year and Artiste of the Year UK awards, with no nod in the Gospel categories.
Joseph Matthew who is currently promoting his latest song, Fear No Evil told Graphic Showbiz that even though he identifies with Gospel music, he doesn’t want to be limited to the genre because he is a versatile artiste.
