Grace Ashly honors Ghana Police with new motivational song

Gospel musician Grace Ashly has composed a new song dedicated to the Ghana Police Service, celebrating the dedication, professionalism, and sacrifices of police personnel.

The song, titled “Ghana Police,” was officially handed over to the service on Friday, January 16, 2026.

Madam Ashly explained that the inspiration for the composition came from her personal experiences traveling late at night. She noted that seeing the visible presence of police officers on the streets gave her a sense of safety and reassurance, motivating her to express her appreciation through

“The commitment and discipline of our officers inspired me to create this song,” she said. “It’s a tribute to their hard work, integrity, and the sacrifices they make to keep Ghanaians safe.”

Receiving the song, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno praised her for her contribution. He described her as a

musical icon whose compositions, particularly those uplifting the Black Stars, have brought inspiration and joy to the nation.

“The song is a morale booster for our personnel. Her music has the power to inspire, whether on the football field or in the communities we serve, “he said.

He suggested that the National Sports Authority recognize her efforts to encourage more motivational works supporting the Black Stars and other national initiatives.

The IGP also highlighted the broader impact of her gesture, noting that the police force remains committed to public safety and professionalism. “The relative peace Ghanaians enjoy today is only the beginning,” he said, assuring the public that officers who demonstrate dedication and merit will be rewarded without delay.

In a lighthearted yet serious note, Mr. Yohuno stressed the proactive spirit of the police, saying, “Even if an officer is admitted in a hospital, if a criminal needs to be caught, they will discharge themselves to ensure justice is served and then return for treatment.”
