For the young musician, however, the journey to the top is not simply about chasing fame. It is about turning personal struggles into music that inspires perseverance, self-belief and the courage to keep pursuing one’s dreams.

Born Nathaniel Kwabla Seanehia, Sosa Kidd is introducing himself to the Ghanaian music scene with “Fly High,” a motivational single produced by his long-time collaborator, Govner.

The song is inspired by a challenging period in his life and became his way of speaking success into existence, even when circumstances seemed to suggest otherwise.

“I wrote it as a form of manifestation. A declaration that regardless of the obstacles, I would overcome them and succeed.
“Beyond my own story, Fly High serves as an anthem for perseverance. It addresses the importance of staying unwavering, locked in on your goals and resilient,” he told Graphic Showbiz on Monday, August 31.

But music is only one part of Sosa Kidd’s story. He is also a BSc Nautical Science student at the Regional Maritime University (RMU), where he is studying a career in maritime navigation.

His passion for music became more serious during his time at Apostle Safo School of Arts and Sciences. His defining moment came after he performed R2Bees’ “Boys Kasa” on the school’s stage.

The connection he felt with the audience during that performance convinced him that music was more than a hobby.
“Experiencing that deep, immediate connection with the crowd made me realise that music wasn't just a hobby, it was a profession I wanted to pursue seriously,” he said.

His love for music can be traced back to his childhood, where his father regularly played Ghanaian gospel music on his stereo at home.'

Artistes such as Elder Mireku and Esther Smith were among the musicians whose songs dominated his childhood, and he said those early influences continue to shape his approach to music.
