needy students who had applied to 10 pre-selected public tertiary institutions nationwide.
She said in August last year, the first batch of awardees from five universities received their package in the university category of the competition.
Mrs Lumor said participants wrote on the topic: "Discuss How Ghana Can Take Advantage of Information and Communication Technology and Data Usage for Its Development".
She indicated that MTN was pleased to support brilliant but needy students to continue their education to impact on national development.
She said it was good to know that the Foundation was enriching the lives of 10 students currently studying in the universities and polytechnics of Ghana.
Mr Michael Ikpoki, Chief Executive Officer of MTN, said the package was to enable the students to further their education as they pursued courses of their choice.
He encouraged the students to make good use of the support being offered them by the company by taking their studies seriously, "knowing that the sky is their limit."
He urged them to take full advantage of the opportunities in the telecommunications and technology sector generally to broaden their horizon in the use of Information and Communication Technology and not limit themselves to few available courses in schools.
He encouraged parents of the beneficiaries to ensure that they invested what they would have spent on their children's education in other profitable areas.
Mr Kwesi Gyan Apenteng, President of the Ghana Association of Writers, commended the Foundation for their effort to finding creative ways of supporting students.
He said authorities needed to pay more attention to standards of students English and literary expressions in schools and colleges.
