The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) on Wednesday organized a party for 26 of its retirees to show appreciation and gratitude for their selfless and dedication to the Institute.
Professor Franklyn Achampong Manu, Rector of GIMPA, said the retirees have contributed significantly to the success and development of the Institute hence the need to acknowledge their contribution with a special party.
Prof Manu urged the retirees to consider themselves part of the Institute and that their doors are open for any advice and counseling and appeal to them not to hesitate to share their rich experience and knowledge any time their services are required.
The retirees were presented with Kente cloth and certificates to appreciate their contribution to the institute.
The citation on the certificates reads "GIMPA wishes to express its sincere thanks and gratitude for your years of dedicated service. We wish you good health, happiness and continued success in your retirement".
Mr Nicholas S.K Appiah on behalf of the retirees thanked the leadership of GIMPA for the special treatment adding that the gesture came as a surprise to them.
Mr Appiah said their outfit will be ready to provide any assistance to the Institute and will continue to pray for the Institute to grow from strength to strength.
GIMPA was established in 1961 as a joint Ghana Government and the United Nations special fund project established as one of the key strategic institutions to develop the public administrative system, to produce civil servants with administrative and professional competence, and to plan and administer national, regional and local services.
