A delegation of the traditional chiefs, elders and queenmothers from Cape Coast on Wednesday paid a congratulatory courtesy call on Vice President Kwesi Amissah- Arthur at the Flagstaff House in Accra.
They urged him to remain focused in partnering President John Mahama to deliver on the "better lives" promise for Ghanaians.
Osabarima Kwesi Attah II, the Paramount Chief of Cape Coast (Oguamahen), who led the delegation presented a Bible to the Vice President and urged him to be guided by the Word of God in the discharge of his duties.
He also presented a drawing of a crab, the emblem of Oguaman, and advised the Vice President not to forget his roots.
Osabarima Atta commended the Vice President on his election to the second highest political postion of the land, and while thanking God for the position, observed that the position was not one that to be toyed with, but that which went along with a heavy responsibility.
"Make God your companion," Osabarima Atta said, and emphasised on the need to take instructions from his boss, not ill advisors to effectively discharge his duty.
Osabarima Atta promised the readiness of the traditional leaders to be called upon for advice adding that they were ready to work with the Vice President.
He urged the Vice to treat everyone fairly, and wished him God's guidance, long life good health.
Vice President Amissah-Arthur recalled his visits to the chiefs after his nomination last year to the position, his confirmation and during the 2012 electioneering campaign, and said as political leaders, they still needed the prayer support of the chiefs and queens.
He noted that the work was daunting, but was hopeful that they would deliver successfully with the help of God.
