Greece's far-right Golden Dawn party has launched tutorials on "national awareness" and "the Greek spirit" for children as young as six, newspapers said Wednesday.
More than 20 children had joined the first lesson at party offices in the capital Athens last weekend, the extremist anti-foreigner party said on its website.
Golden Dawn said it was teaching children about "Greek ideals" in educational videos about the ancient Greek gods and the Christian faith.
The best-selling daily Ta Nea warned on its front page that the neo-Nazi group was teaching hatred to children.
Golden Dawn, whose members have violently attacked immigrants, emerged from obscurity in crisis-hit Greece to win nearly 7 per cent of the vote in elections last year.
The party has profited from voter anger with mainstream parties as indebted Greece has suffered under six years of recession, 27 per cent unemployment and tough austerity.
The extreme-right party has advised parents to send children between the ages of 6 and 10 to Golden Dawn's tutorials to help bring about "the rebirth of the Greek spirit."
