A bomb attack killed three security personnel and wounded 11 others outside an army barrack in Pakistani-controlled Kashmir on Wednesday, police said.
Officials confirmed that it was a suicide attack and the army barrack was the target of the suicide bomber. The bomb exploded outside the barrack in Tarar Khal area of Rawalakot town, 150 km east of Muzaffarabad, the capital of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir and near the line of control with Indian-controlled Kashmir.
Police said the blast occurred in early morning, injuring 14 people, with three of them dead at the hospital.
The suicide bomber was trying to enter the army barrack and blew himself up when he was intercepted by security personnel at the barrack's entrance.
The Pakistani security forces put security cordon around the area after the blast and stopped movement of all kinds.
So far, this is the third suicide attack in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, there were two suicide attacks in Muzaffarabad, one in the army
barrack and the other on a mourning procession in a Shia mosque in Muharram.
