The Seventh Day Sabbath Church of Christ Mission has distributed items worth over 80,000 Ghana cedis to widows, orphans, disabled and the needy.
The presentation was made at the 11th Charity Show which was organized to climax the four-day convention of the church dubbed "the Lord Supper
Celebration" at the mission headquarters at Asamankese.
Items distributed included 1,250 pieces of wax print, several pieces of clothing materials, 80 boxes of key soap, 550 pairs of bathroom sandals, 250 boxes of toilet rolls, five bales of used clothing, 100 white canes for the blind, 10 wheel chairs, 12 clutches, several bags of maize and crates of soft drinks.
The beneficiaries were 240 widows, 100 orphans, 200 blind persons, 100 physically challenged and 50 hearing impaired persons.
The founder and general overseer of the church, Apostle Ephraim K. Danso, said the church was following the teachings of the Bible which called for special care for the orphans, widows, disabled and the needy.
Speaking at the Charity show the Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Ahmed Baba-Jamal, commended the church for the donation.
