Mr Benjamin Adu-Darko, Deputy Director in-charge of schools inspection in Nkoranza, has commended Major Derek Oduro (Rtd), Member of Parliament for the area, for donating 22 computers to some Junior High Schools in the district.
Mr Adu-Darko, who is Presiding Member of Nkoranza North District Assembly, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Busunya that the provision of
the computers had helped the students in their study of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
He commended the staff and parents of Yefri Junior High School for constructing a computer laboratory for the school and advised the other
communities to emulate the people of Yefri.
Mr Adu-Darko appealed to Non-governmental Organisations, philanthropists and other public-spirited individuals and bodies to support
the development of education in the district.
Kwasi Sarfo Kantanka, Circuit Supervisor who received three computers for Yefri Junior High School thanked the MP for the gesture.
He advised teachers of the beneficiary schools to guide the students in the handling of the machines.
Mr Kantanka appealed to the teachers to intensify efforts in the teaching of ICT to get the students abreast with modern trends of accessing
information.
Meanwhile the MP has funded the constructions and renovation of school buildings at Madina, Yefri, Bono-Manso, Asotin, Boateng, Bonnet and Bo Mimi.
