Mr Mohammed Ahmed Baba Jamal, Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, has challenged stakeholders in the development of children, including parents, teachers, and opinion leaders to lead exemplary
lives children see them as role models.
He urged them to teach the children the "right from the wrong" to enable them to lead responsible lives when they grow up.
Mr Baba Jamal was speaking at the 70th Speech and Prize Giving Day of the Madonna School, in Koforidua.
He indicated that challenges of the educational development of children were enormous and the government through the Metropolitan Municipal and District Assemblies alone could not solve them because of limited resources.
Mr Baba Jamal, therefore, called for concerted efforts to help bring education to the doorsteps of every Ghanaian child.
He said the future development of the nation, particularly, in the quest to become a middle income country by the year 2015, depends to a large extent on the type of education being given to the future leaders of the country.
Mr Baba Jamal said being mindful of the important role education plays in the country, government had instituted several measures and interventions to ensure that every Ghanaian child received quality education.
He advised children to shun all acts of indiscipline such as drug abuse, pre -marital sex, stealing and absenteeism, among others.
