A 100,000-Euro water project at Akyem Gyadam in the Birim Central Municipality was inaugurated on Tuesday with an appeal to the people to desist from negative practices that pollute the environment.
Ms Ophelia Koomson, the Birim Central Municipal Chief Executive, advised the people to guard against indiscriminate dumping of refuse.
She appealed to the chiefs and people of Gyadam to take care of the facility by establishing a sustainable operation and maintenance culture in order to prolong its life span.
Ms Koomson commended Mr William Agyapong Quaitoo, the assembly member for the area, who is also the Presiding member of the Birim Central
Municipal Assembly and the local unit committee for sustaining the communal spirit
Mr Quaitoo called for unity among the people at all times to help promote development.
