Participants at this years New Juaben Municipal Governance Issues Forum Network (GIFNET) citizens dialogue with Municipal officials, have urged parents to support infrastructural
development and learning in public schools.
The GIFNET provides the opportunity for people at the grassroots to contribute towards policies that affect them in the Municipality.
The participants observed that over-reliance on government to provide all infrastructure needs, teaching and learning materials, create
difficulties in the effective management and planning of schools.
Members of GIFNET, officials of the New Juaben Municipal education office, New Juaben Municipal Assembly and media personnel attended the forum.
It was organized with financial support from the Institute for Democratic Governance (IDEG) following concerns raised by some citizens of
New Juaben about the poor standard of education at public schools in the area.
The New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Alex Asamoah called on all stakeholders in the education sector to get involved in the provision of schools infrastructure and inputs.
He announced that the Assembly had begun the construction of more classroom blocks to end the shift system and the schools under trees
phenomenon in the Municipality.
