Major Rtd. Mohammed Easah, National President of Coalition of Muslim Organizations of Ghana (COMOG), on Monday called on Muslims who are not enumerated to take advantage of the mopping exercise to be enumerated.
"If you are Muslims who are not enumerated as at now, it is advisable to either report to the offices of the Census secretariat or you call on COMOG leadership to help you to be counted."
Major Rtd Easah who made this call in a press release copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said the statement was reacting to reports from Muslim communities that they had not been enumerated in the exercise.
He said they had over the years argued also that they were more than the 15 per cent of Ghanaians as contained in the last census report and urged them to avail themselves in all national assignments including the population census.
The National COMOG President also appealed to the census officials not to discriminate against Muslim communities in the exercise as that could serve as a catalyst for future religious problems.
