The All Nations International Development Agency (ANIDA), a charitable organization, on Wednesday presented Christmas gifts to 246 children under its child sponsorship programme dubbed; "The Silent Cry Project" at a ceremony in Koforidua.
The package which includes clothes, shoes, toys, toiletries and books were given to the children on the Children's Day which also formed part of the ANIDA Day celebrations in Koforidua.
The Children's Day celebration is organized annually where children and family members are brought together for fellowship at the All Nations
University to interact with the founders of the organization; Dr Reverend Samuel Donkor and his wife.
Ms Theresa Appiah Afoakwah, Project Coordinator of ANIDA-Ghana, told newsmen that the "Silent Cry Project," established in 2005, "serves to give improvised children access to basic needs, which includes food, clothing, education and medical attention".
According to Ms Afoakwah, the project sponsors children from six regions in the country; namely, Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Central, Eastern,
Greater Accra and Western Regions.
She indicated that the project would soon be spread to the other regions.
Ms Afoakwah disclosed that the sponsorship and donations were funded by philanthropists from Canada, Pastors and members of the All Nations Full Gospel Church in Canada.
