The Executive Director of 4H-Ghana, a non-governmental organization, Mr Appiah Kwaku Boateng, has appealed to Ghanaians, especially the youth, to have the courage and test for HIV and AIDS.
He said knowing their status would help in behavioural change and make them cautious about the disease.
Mr Boateng was speaking at a symposium on HIV and AIDS for students of the Koforidua Polytechnic to commemorate World AIDS Day.
The programme was organized by the New Juaben Municipal Assembly in collaboration with 4H-Ghana, Plannned Parenthood Association of Ghana, Family Health International and Teenage Bible Club.
Mr Boateng urged the students to spread the message and create awareness on behavioural change.
He expressed worry about the situation where people took the HIV and AIDS pandemic for granted and "satisfy their pleasure" with multiple sexual
partners.
Mr Freeman Asare, from PPAG, said anti-retroviral drugs were available to be given to those who might test positive for the disease.
