Mr Kwadwo Agyei-Dwomor, District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Nkoranza North District, on Thursday said, the District Assembly spends about 70 percent of its resources to support educational programmes in the communities.
He was interacting with the newly-appointed District Director of Education, Mr Appiah Kusi, who paid a courtesy call on the DCE at Busunya,
the district capital.
Mr Agyei-Dwomor said new classroom blocks were under construction at Akonkonti, Fiema, Dromankuma and Dromankese, whilst the Kranka Islamic Primary and Baafi District Assembly Primary Schools would also be provided with decent school blocks.
About 24 school communities in the district also enjoy the school feeding programme, he added.
Mr Agyei-Dwomor said the Assembly would provide about 500 dual desks for schools in the area.
Mr Kusi expressed his gratitude to the DCE for the warm welcome, as well as his efforts in initiating a number of educational programmes to enhance the development of the district.
He called on teachers to work hard to improve on the standard of education in the area so that the Assembly's resources on education would not be wasted.
