A number of parents and guardians in the Ho municipality on Wednesday have suggested that the government re-adjust school re-opening dates to coincide with the payment of salaries every year.
Some also suggested that the early re-opening dates could be maintained and payment of school fees deferred until the end of the month when the financial situation was expected to normalise.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, they said such adjustments would help ease the financial pressure on poorly paid parents.
Many of them said under the present circumstance loans from money lenders with difficult conditions remained the only solution available to them.
Some public sector workers however told the GNA that they expected the burden of such IOUs and loans to ease significantly with the coming of the Single Spine Salary.
