Two employees of the Zakhem Construction Ghana Limited have been arrested by the Odorkor Police in connection with the evacuation of tons of iron rods from the Company’s site to Russia, an Accra neighbourhood.
The names of the culprits are being withheld until investigations have been completed.
Also, three private security personnel of the All Striking Force who were supposed to be on duty at the time of the conveyance of the items have been invited by the police to help in their
investigations.
The names of the security guards are also being withheld until the police have established their involvement or otherwise in the theft.
Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Thursday, Police Superintendent Baffour Apenteng, Odorkor District Police Crime Officer,aid the Police intercepted the items on January 3, 2011 when the vehicle conveying them was heading towards Russia.
He said the police had also established that the items belonged to Zakhem Construction Company.
