Mr Ignatius Mwinbe-Ere Der, the District Education Director for Afigya -Kwabre, has called for more dedication and hard work from teachers to improve academic performance in schools.
He said they needed to stick to professional ethics and to make the school environment attractive for retention of the children.
Mr Der was addressing a meeting with head
teachers of basic schools and the circuit supervisors in the district at Kodie
The meeting deliberated on challenges faced by
schools in the area and mapped out strategies to tackles these to achieve quality education.
Mr Kwaku Oppong-Kyekyeku Kaakyire, Afigya-
Kwabre District Chief Executive, pledged to ensure that there are adequate classrooms, learning and teaching materials in the schools.
He said it was important that all stakeholders accepted to do their bit to raise the standard of education.
“If the district assembly and for that matter the government provides all the basic facilities and materials and teachers as the implementers fail to deliver, all the toil and
efforts will be in vain”, he said.
Mr Oppong-Kyekyeku said they should help not only to unearth but also to develop the potentials of all children.
