The Ghana Tourist Board (GTB) in the Northern Region has presented packets of chocolate to the Nyohini Children’s Home in Tamale for the children of the Home to celebrate Valentine Day on Monday.
Mr. William Ayambire, Northern Regional Manager of GTB, told the GNA that the presentation formed part of efforts by the GTB to promote tourism.
He said during the previous week, his outfit embarked on a number of media campaigns to whip up enthusiasm on the consumption of chocolate to mark the celebration.
Mr Ayambire said the GTB in the region would also visit some of the popular entertainment houses in the Tamale Metropolis to impress on the people on the need to patronize the consumption of chocolate during the celebration.
He said offering of chocolate to a friend signified love, adding that the product was made from Ghana’s premium cocoa, which promoted good health.
Shot owners told the GNA that sale of Valentine Day items were low.
