A Swedru based businessman, Mr George Gyamfi, has presented two computers, their accessories and a printer to the Agona Swedru branch of Ghana National Fires Service and the Oyoko Chambers at Agona Swedru.
Presenting a computer and the printer to the Fire Service, Mr Gyamfi, Managing Director of “Boafo Ye Na” Company, said he was moved by the absence of the items when he visited the Agona West Municipal offices of the Fire Service
recently.
He expressed the hope that the donation would enhance work at their secretariat of the Fire Station.
Mr Kwesi Quayson, Central Regional Commander of the Fire Service who received the items, thanked the donor appealed to others to emulate the example of Mr Gyamfi.
He said the Service would form fire volunteer squads in the Agona West Municipality to help protect life and property.
The squads would also educate shop owners, market women and businessmen and women on how to curb fire outbreaks in the Municipality.
Mr Robert Addai, Acting Agona West Commander of Fire Service, said the only fire tender at the station had broken down.
He appealed to corporate bodies, companies and well to- do citizens of Agona residing both home and abroad to assist to repair the Tender.
At the Oyoko chambers, Madam Rukia Ahmed, a staff of the chambers who received the computer on behalf of the Chamber, thanked Mr Gyamfi for the donation.
