Chairman of the Kidney Federation of India Fr Davis Chiramel has been chosen for this year's Gandhi Award for his role in creating kidney bank in the state, which is the first of its kind in the world.
The award carries Rs 25,000, a statuette and a citation will be distributed to Davis at a function to be held in India's southern city
Kochi in the first week of May.
The Gandhi Award is instituted by the Pala-based Mahatma Gandhi National Foundation.
