Apostle Dr Stephen Kwame Amoani, Chairman, Christ Apostolic Church International (CACI), on Saturday urged Christians not to allow excessive leisure to disrupt the pursuit of their personal and national goals.
“Do not rest more than you need, focus on your task and work harder to achieve your goals in life. Don’t allow yourself to be stricken by social upheavals because they would ruin you,” he said.
Apostle Dr Amoani said this when he dedicated a GH 400,000 cedi ultra modern church complex of the Odorkor Central branch in Accra.
The two- storey building has a sitting capacity of about 2,000, an office, a kitchenette, a car park and washrooms.
The dedication coincided with the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Odorkor Central branch which was nursed 40 years ago.
Apostle Dr Amoani who performed the dedication service lauded members of the church for their toils and efforts to get the magnificent edifice for God who would provide solace for all manner of persons who worshipped in it.
Preaching on the theme: “Finding a place for the Lord,” Apostle Dr Amoani told Christians to desire to get a place for the Lord in order to attract his blessings.
He further admonished Christians to use the occasion to also dedicate their hearts to God in order to attain his blessings.
According to him, finding a place for God meant that they should make Jesus Christ the centre of their lives and give him more room to operate.
He said people who surrendered their lives to the Lord have had their lives blessed and fear terminated in their respective endeavours.
Mr Emmanuel Koranteng, an Elder of the church, said the history of the church hinged on God’s prophesy delivered by Apostle Peter Newman Anim, founder of CACI that, “This tiny assembly you see here will in the foreseeable future develop into a giant of a church that will be the very head of the CACI.”
Mr Koranteng said 10 founding members and their dependents moved from Osu to Swalaba, to Kaneshie before settling on its three acre land at Odorkor, Accra.
The occasion was also used to launch a book chronicling the history of the church at the various stages of development and growth and the founding members.
Apostle E.O.K. Donkor, the General Secretary of CACI, who launched the book, appealed to members to follow the example of the leaders and make the greatest sacrifice of winning more souls to join in the big congregation.
Apostle Percy Konotey, Christian Education Director, CACI presented certificates to the founding members who included Mr and Mrs. Akuffo.
