The 32 Annual Synod of the Koforidua Diocese of the Methodist Church-Ghana, aimed at taking stock of its activities for the past year and to find solutions to challenges, has started in Koforidua on Thursday.
The five-day event is being attended by more than 200 delegates made up of the clergy and laity from the 21 Circuits of the Diocese is under the Theme: “Connexionality: The Church as God’s Team for God’s Work”.
Right Reverend Frederick Nnuroh, Bishop of the Diocese, in his opening address, called for team work among members of the members.
He noted that “Companies in the world are discovering that teams potentially make more creative and informed decisions and co-ordinate
work without the need for close supervision”.
Rt. Rev. Nnuroh said group decision-making was helpful in gaining acceptance and commitment adding that the group members evaluate each other’s thinking so that the team could avoid major mistakes” He said working in groups also enhances job satisfaction among many members adding that “a member of a team makes it possible to
satisfy more needs than if one works alone”.
Rt. Rev. Nnuroh said the Diocese has purchased a vehicle for the Afram Plains Circuit of the church, and implementing a piggery project
at Maame Krobo, and Hweehwee Clinic with nurses’ quarters.
He asked Christians to seek the welfare of the poor and needy in society.
Rt. Rev. Nnuroh said that the Conference had directed the well established churches to support the weaker ones.
