Reverend Alphose Kodzokumah, Moderator of the Ho-East Presbytery of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, has asked the clergy to reflect the standard of God as His representatives on earth.
He observed that failures of the Church were partly because some of its key players were “losing sight of the fact that they are
servants and accountable to God”.
Reverend Alphose Kodzokumah, Moderator of the Ho-East Presbytery of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, made the call when he opened the second synod of the Presbytery in Ho on Friday.
More than 100 delegates, including pastors, catechists, presbyters and representatives of various groups in the Church in the presbytery
are attending the three-day event under the theme: “Integrity in Mission and Ministry”.
Rev. Kodzokuma said God expect Christian leaders to dispense honest and upright service to enhance the growth of the Church and society.
The Right Rev. Francis Amenu, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church, in an address, read on his behalf, advised Church leaders to examine their performance critically rather than blame
others for their failures.
He said the dictum, “Good name is better than riches” should always guide Christian leaders and appealed to members of the Church to revamp all its defunct projects.
Mr. Justice Victor Ayime, a high court judge, observed that some Christian leaders have arrogated to themselves the authority to judge others instead of appraising and examining themselves.
He appealed to such leaders to uphold the virtues of love, humility, purity and peace and inculcate the same values in their followers.
