Seoul is set to host a series of medical conferences as part of its efforts to become an international convention hub, city officials said Tuesday.
A total of 36 international conferences on medicine and related industries will be held in the city's major convention centers between this year and 2016, the Seoul Metropolitan Government said in a release.
The capital city, with its population of 15 million, has taken the lead in attracting and organizing international meetings since 2007 under a project to boost the convention and tourism industry and elevate the country's global image.
