Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the Member of Parliament for Ellembelle, has donated 100 dual desks to the Uthman Bin Affan Islamic Senior High School (UBAISH) at Kamgbunli in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region.
This follows an appeal made by the headmaster to the MP to help address the numerous challenges militating against the smooth running of the school, especially in the wake of the implementation of the free Senior High School (SHS) policy.
The MP responded to the headmaster's call by paying a visit to the school to ascertain the situation there.
At a presentation ceremony at the school, Mr Buah used the opportunity to lead the school to observe a one minute silence for the souls of the departed students of the Kumasi Academy SHS emanating from the outbreak of N1H1 influenza.
According to the MP, the gesture formed part of measures to mitigate problems bedevilling the implementation of the free SHS as espoused by the sector Minister.
He, therefore, pledged his support to the School and advised the students to study hard to obtain good grades that would enable them to further their education at institutions of higher learning.
Alhaji Osman Zakari, the Headmaster on behalf of the staff and the students, expressed profound gratitude to the MP for the timely intervention to solve the furniture challenges facing the school.
In another development, Mr Buah visited a physically challenged person at Azuleloanu, Mr Stephen Mome, and donated a new wheel chair to aid his movement.
He also donated a hair dryer to Miss Kwasi Raale, one of the many youth he assisted to undergo apprenticeship training in hairdressing.
The beneficiaries thanked the MP for the kind gesture.
