The theme of the conference is ‘The Keys to the Future: Learnability and Employability’ and the organisers want to hear from anyone with “exciting, imaginative, innovative ideas and new thinking about how Africa’s wealth of talent can be turned into skills and skills into success.”

eLearning Africa 2019 will focus on how Africans can adapt to the rapidly changing circumstances of the future and how they can equip themselves with the key skills that are likely to be needed. A central question for conference participants will be how can Africans learn and grow quickly?

“Learnability and employability are vital issues for employers and for young people entering the labour markets,” says Rebecca Stromeyer, the founder of eLearning Africa, whose company will host the conference in partnership with the Government of Cote d’Ivoire. “The ability to learn and keep learning new skills will be as important in the future as simply being able to do a job. The nature of employment is going to change dramatically and I suspect that Africans will have a big advantage. Africans are flexible and open to new ideas. They have a big opportunity to leapfrog their competitiors and not only introduce the change that is necessary, but make it flexible too.”

Ms Stromeyer says that eLearning Africa 2019 will be all about “the key attributes Africans will need in tomorrow’s global economy and how to acquire them.”

Key themes at the conference will include:

-     Innovative applications in Africa’s leading social and economic sectors
