The President Akufo Addo on Thursday, declared that the amount of money, time and emotional stress expended to resolve the Dagbon conflict, has yield positive results in making Ghana a prosperous country.
The President, who was delivering his third State of the Nation Address to Parliament, underscored that the installation of a new Ya-Na had brought to an end more than a decade of feuding that ‘laid low the Ancient Kingdom of Dagbon’.
“It was a happy day, which marked the climax of a long, tortuous journey and a hard grind on the part of many people through the years,” the President said.
He explained that he decided to summon all resources of the State, to make a concerted effort through the Patriotic Committee of dedicated Eminent Kings who tirelessly worked to find an acceptable solution.
“With the blessing of the Almighty, we have had a breakthrough, which has led to the month-long series of events that climaxed in the installation”.
He, however, pointed out that he was not looking to be accorded with any special accolade because he was purely determined to do whatever it took to make sure that the dispute was resolved.
