The leadership of the National Road Safety Commission (NRSC) on Tuesday paid a courtesy call on Ya-Na Abukari Mahama II, the overlord of Dagbon in Yendi .
The purpose of the visit was to congratulate him on his enskinment as the new Overlord of the people of Dagbon and introduce some key officials of the NRSC to him.
The Reverend Ismaila Awudu, the Board Chairman of NRSC who led a delegation commended the Ya- Na for bringing hope to the people since his enskinment and promoted peace and unity among the people in the region.
He said the peaceful co-existence among the people in the region would also go a long way to help the NRSC to promote and carry out road safety education and campaigns so as to save lives on the road.
He assured the Ya-Na that the NRSC's would be coming back to officially enlighten him on the areas where the Commission would be seeking his support to help carry out their obligations successfully in the region.
Reverend Awudu said the NRSC would, also, in its next visit decorate the Ya-Na as NRSC's ambassador for safety in the region and beyond.
He, therefore, called on the Ya-Na to support all advocacies in road safety campaigns and activities to promote peace and sustainable development in the region.
Ya-Na Abukari Mahama II, expressed joy for the NRSC's visit and assured the Commission that he would be willing to lend any support to make sure the Commission fulfilled its obligations in the region successfully.
