Mr Philip Basoah, Sekyere East District Chief Executive, has called on chiefs in the district to create land banks in their areas of jurisdiction for development.
He said this could attract investors to the district that had been included in the Millennium Challenge Account Project.
Addressing the Kumawu Traditional Council as part of his familiarization tour of the area on Monday, Mr Basoah urged the Council to assist the assembly to maintain law and order within the area.
Mr Basoah said Government and the assembly depended on chiefs to enhance its policies and programmes, therefore; it was incumbent on them to endeavour communities within their jurisdiction assist to improve living standards of the people.
He stressed the need for the chiefs to assist in the implementation of the Government's health and educational programmes, adding; "The assembly will ensure sanitary inspectors work effectively to avoid the outbreak of an epidemic in the district."
The DCE said garbage containers that could be evacuated when full would be placed at vantage points in the town to ensure environmental cleanliness.
Barima Asumadu Sakyi II, Paramount chief of Kumawu Traditional Area, advised the DCE to evolve meaningful strategies to bring more development projects to the area.
"You should let the spirit of love and sacrifice permeate in all your activities to win the hearts of the people, " He added.
Barima Sakyi asked the DCE to seek clearance on issues to be abreast with the assembly's policies and programmes and in addition endeavours to maintain good relations with the chiefs.
Nana Serwaa Amponsah, Queen Mother of Kumawu, was optimistic the DCE would be transparent and evolve effective programmes to create employment for the youth.
She asked the DCE to find solutions to problems in the area to bring peace and development.
