These include the restoration of forest reserves and addressing the issue of illegal small-scale mining, otherwise known as "galamsey".

The Minister also emphasised the importance of creating a positive work environment, saying, "I intend to create an atmosphere that will make everyone excited whenever they want to come to work."

Mr Buah made the remarks during an engagement with Management and staff of the Ministry in Accra.

The Minister reiterated his commitment to ensuring accountability and transparency, stating, "I am not going to compromise in my position to condone illegality, especially illegal logging and mining."

The Minister emphasised the importance of collaboration and mutual support in achieving the Ministry's goals.

"You will be my key advisors as I navigate this Ministry," the Minister stated, acknowledging the directors' expertise and experience.

The Minister assured the directors of his utmost support, regardless of one's political affiliation.

The Minister promised to operate an open-door policy with the welfare of staff at the heart of his leadership.

Professor Patrick Agbesinyale, the Chief Director of the Ministry, welcomed the Minister, and assured him of the staff loyalty and dedication towards attaining the Ministry's mandate.
