The government is putting the final touches on Friday's state funeral for the eight victims of last week's helicopter crash.
In line with that the public has been invited to submit messages of condolence for inclusion in the official funeral brochure.
In a statement, the Minister for Government Communications and Presidential Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu indicated the Funeral Planning Committee was extending “a solemn invitation to all individuals, institutions, and the public to come together in remembrance and honour the lives of those we so sadly lost.”
Messages are to be sent via email to tributes@presidency.gov.gh no later than Wednesday, August 13, 2025, by 12:00 GMT.
The state funeral will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Black Star Square, Accra, starting at 8:00 AM.
The deceased, two serving cabinet ministers, senior security officials, and military crew were aboard a Ghana Armed Forces Z-9 helicopter that crashed in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region, while on an anti-illegal mining mission. All eight on board died.
Mr Kwakye Ofosu said the ceremony would serve as a national moment of unity, adding, “May their courage, dedication, and spirit inspire us all to continue striving for a stronger, more united, and prosperous Ghana.”
