The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has formally invited President John Dramani Mahama to attend the final funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
A high-powered delegation, led by the Amoamanhene, Nana Agyenim Boateng I, delivered the invitation during a courtesy call on the President at the Presidency in Accra on Monday.
The royal funeral is scheduled to be held from September 15 to 18, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, where dignitaries from across Ghana and beyond are expected to gather and pay their respects.
President Mahama expressed his deepest condolences to the Asantehene and the people of Asanteman, describing the passing of Nana Konadu Yiadom III as an immense loss to the nation. He assured the delegation of his full commitment to attend the funeral to honour the late queen mother’s memory and legacy.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who passed away on August 7, 2025, at the age of 98, was widely revered for her wisdom, leadership, and dedication to Asanteman throughout her reign.
